Subject: The DIA and Puppetry


Mention was made about the Detroit Institute of Arts and puppetry.  
It happens to be one of the most extensive puppetry collections in  
the country, most of it not available for public viewing. Anyway, 
the DIA recently went on line and although they haven't included 
anything about puppets yet, I am assured that they will be 
including this category soon. The DIA url is WWW.Diamondial.Org.    
At the present time, the DIA is exhibiting the works of Paul and 
Marjorie McPharlin. . Paul was a puppeteer, a puppet collector and 
a writer who also designed books. He was one of the founding 
members of the Puppeteers of America and the editor of  the 
Puppetry yearbooks .Marjorie McPharlin is a puppeteer, designer, 
and writer.
