  While there are some resources on the net (I never have the address handy
when I need it - do a search for the words "puppetry home page") There are
other resources that will probably help you better. Some libraries have good
collections of puppetry books - so that is a start.
  But I think the best place to get started is with another puppeteer. There
are puppetry guilds throughout the US, and if you can tell us which city you
are located, we can refer you to a local guild.
