Well, actually, that's not so tall an order. He and Tenniel worked very
closely together on those illustrations. Beyond that, we have the vivid
reminiscences  of his 
little friends once they grew up, and he was a faithful correspondent. Much
of his photography remains too, including some of his nude photography of
little girls.  He is not all that inegmatic, really.
