This often happens - movies use an old technology (puppets) and a new (3D),
and the old technology gets ignored. Remember all the hoopla about
Jurassic Park and those amazing 3D computer dinosaurs? There's only about
7 minutes of 3D footage, the rest is puppets; but from the docos made at
the time, you'd think puppets had been dropped as being too old-fashioned

Similarly with Babe, in the early days of promotion of the movie here in
Australia, you wouldn't know puppets were involved, it was all
computer-this and 3D-that.

I'm not at all surprised to hear a similar snowjob being done on the
general public. But just read those end credits, and watch the movie
carefully - you'll be able to pick the puppet moments.

Cheers, Janet
