I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading your post Carol.
Teachers in the school my children attend have done the same thing, not
doing holiday stuff because they didn't want to deal with the issue.
I would like to see more of the kind of action you are taking this year,
after all, why should the kids today miss out on things that we adults
have wonderful memories of from when we were kids, just for someone
else's idea of "politcally correct".
The kids don't know about "politcally correct" and don't care, and they
shouldn't have to.  Kids should just be allowed to be kids and enjoy all
the things they're supposed to be able to enjoy while they're kids,
especially when it comes to the holidays.
