If such a comment can be considered >objectionable, than our society is in deep trouble. I think what everyone is objecting to here is the extremist element of the PC movement. It is fine to be considerate of other people's feelings, but sometimes this can all go to far. When you have "witches" complaining that a story uses a bad image of a witch, or a socially consious individual protests the use of the term loony in a puppet show, we are going over the deep end. Sensitivity is not the issue we are talking about. It all comes down to some trying to control the speech of others, and the dialogue that is allowable. What thoughts or ideas we are allowed to have access to. When it comes to that, there is no room for moderation or an acceptance of compromise. Censorship should be opposed outright, if art is to survive. --Jim Maroon The Storytelling Home Page http://members.aol.com/storypage --- Personal replies to: Buster <jmaroon1-AT-mail.airmail.net> --- List replies to: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Admin commands to: majordomo-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu
