In several books on puppetry I read the advice on performing a puppet play to avoid the things puppets (especially marionettes) don't do well, such as long speeches or subtle emotions. Instead I should concentrate on what puppets CAN do better than human actors. My question: What can puppets do better than human actors? I am not referring to "special effects" such as the dissecting skeleton. I mean, what sort of acting can a puppet do better than a human actor? Thank you ____ David L.
