Subject: Free Speech on the Puppetry Listserve

I have to admit, my own interests are not specifically focused on
contemporary religious puppetry, although I'm fascinated by more
traditional forms, such as the Russian vertep or various Indonesian Wayang.
It does sadden me, though, to think that this discussion group might
purposely exclude any group interested in puppetry in any form. It might
be different if this were such a massive discussion group that it would be
reasonable to break it into smaller components. I don't always have time
to read all my e-mail, and so I do make decisions on a daily basis on what
to read and what to skip. I base this on the subject headings of
individual messages, which I presume are accurate. I would respectfully
suggest that all of those who have strong objections to or lack of interest
in certain topics to simply delete those messages, although we all might
consider the possibility that new perspectives, rather the simple
reinforcement of our previous interests and beliefs, are the true benefit
of this kind of electronic forum.

For the sake of those whose private provider Internet access requires long
and expensive downloading times, perhaps longer posts might simply announce
the availability of scripts, articles, etc., via private e-mail.
