There you go. Whilst I myself am a firm aetheist, I do believe in letting others alone with their beliefs. When I received the original script that sparked all this off I had a quick read through and thought "How nice of someone to actually share a 'topical' script with the rest of us". Okay - I personally have no use for this script, but I thought others might, and even with no use for the script I found it intresting to see what others are doing. Surely the whole point in this list is for puppeteers to share their ideas. Just because someone's ideas may include ideals or beliefs that you do not share, this doesn't, in my opinion, give you the right to condemn them for these beliefs. I for one *was* intrested to see the script, and did not feel that it was an attempt to convert, or brainwash any of the rest of us - in fact the fact that religious institutions do use puppetry in their teaching is the thing that I think we *ought* to be intrested in on this group; I myself had no idea of the extent of this practise, and think that it only goes to show what a *strong* performing art puppetry is, and how it can be used to teach and/or entertain in *many* different ways. Surely *this* is what we should be discussing, *not* the validity of someone's personal beliefs? <breathes a sigh of relief!> That's just my view, but I think it makes sense - can't we save debates on religion and their pros/cons for somewhere a little more appropriate, and concentrate on what this list is really about? Thanks for reading this somewhat *longer* than ideal posting!
