Subject: portable puppet stages

>From Dennis Doyle "Hands up for God" Puppet Group

In response to the question from Scott Richardson.

I have a similar need. I have used PVC pipework stage for some time but
find that for our large group ( we have up to 9 puppeteers working in the
stage at one time) , this needs re-inforcing and we use a steel framework
for the PVC pipes to drop over in the front part of the stage. This makes
it a lot more rigid but has to be custom built, is expensive for some teams
and is awkward to transport. We are fortunate in that we have the resources
to cope with this but recognise that for some it can be a burden.

I have seen Aluminium tripod staging at One Way Street but it seems
expensive and perhaps a bit flimsy. Any thoughts on these please.

I have no problem using and transporting our large stage for our main
puppet group as we have the necessary equipment to do that, but, I am a
Methodist local preacher and there are occasions when I would like to use
just one or two puppets in a service, rather than the whole team
performing. I do not feel led to use vent puppets.

I am therefore looking for a portable single tier stage that two
puppeteers can use with 24 - 26 inch half body muppet type puppets. Ideally
I need to be able to set up and dismantle quickly and it needs to be able
to fold down to carry in the boot (trunk in the US?) of my car. Any ideas
please? I would be most grateful.
