Subject: Re: Casting hands

I have used neoprene for hands, with mixed results: the hands look great,
but unfortunately the fingers tend to snap off when touring or during a
particularly brutal show. I've also used latex with a wire armature. These
hands don't look as good, and the latex tends to break down over time,
becoming sticky and generally ucky looking. Also, paint (acrylic) doesn't
take too well to latex. I would love to be able to carve gorgeous wooden
hands, but I do not have the skill or the patience. What can I use to cast
great-looking, non-brittle, durable-over-time puppet hands???
