Robert Smythe: I think Robert brought up some great points, and put a lot of
thought into the situation. And he knew what he said would be unpopular, and
probably be taken the wrong way. But I'm glad he did it. Just because Rob
D'arc is "one of us", and usually a hard working, nice person, doesn't mean
it's ok for him to react like he did. (check tearing and so on) Yeah he knows
it was a mistake, but are we suppose to look the other way, and pretend it
didn't happen because he's a good guy? All Robert did, was help us see things
from the other side, since the teacher in question isn't here to defend
herself. It gave me a lot of food for thought.

Teachers guides: I've been using teachers guides for years, and although they
don't always get used, no one can say threw something at them from left
field. And when they are used, it makes for a much nicer performance. I
agree, a good guide is better than sending a video. I've found that videos
are great, if you are there with the prospective client, explaining what they
are seeing, and answering any questions they might have. Otherwise they can
easily end up making false conclusions. ("well, that show works in a big
hall, but we only have a small cafeteria or that show works well in a small
cafeteria, but we have a big theatre".)

Refunds: I wouldn't give a refund after the first half hour, or first third
of the show. Asking for your money back after you watched the whole thing
isn't fair. It's like asking for your money back after eating a whole meal,
and saying the food was horrible.

<<We are hosting John Styles this October and before booking him I was
concerned about how audiences would respond to Punch & Judy. >>

I saw John last summer up here in the greater Boston area, which is probably
the most PC area in the country, and he went over big time. They loved him.
Of course he being from England, made it a "cross cultural" event. If I did
the same show I would be tarred and feathered.
