Hi to all you puppeteers and builders and well, everyone else!
My name is Brian Morris and I am a long time subscriber to the chat list
but first time responder. I have really enjoyed all of the dialog between
people on the various topics and have been busy printing off all the
specific info on gadets and whatnot. (If you haven't tried a whatnot, you
really should!)

I have been involved in puppetry for 18 years now and am currently
directing a troupe of puppeteers from Highlands Community Church in Renton,
Washington. Our troupe is made up of Junior and Senior high students and we
regularly perform not only in our church but other churches and many
community events. Our group's name is Zak & Company and you can find out
more about it on our web site at:
http://www.halcyon.com/morrisbc/puppetsNW.html.

>From the sound of the conversation on-line, It sounds like puppetry is
thriving in other parts of the country. the Northwest has it's own puppetry
community but lacks a cohesivness and leadership. very few groups really
know what others are doing or what workshops or training is available. We
are trying to change that in the Northwest by helping teams and leaders
communicate with each other and to be better aware of what is going on. We
have started a web site it help inform people and are also hosting a large
festival this fall. (of course you should really check out our web site to
find more info!) If anyone, and I am sure there is, has good ideas of how
to encourage other puppeteers and enhance the puppet community, I would
love to read what you have done. And if anyone else from the Northwest
reads this, drop me a line! I would love to meet you.

I also appreciate all the great web sites i have learned about. I am also
trying to develop our site into a resource of current ideas, methods, and
suppplies. I have been collecting all these great tibits from you folks
and will some be putting some of them on our site as a resource place.
Well, not much else. Keep up the good talk and puppeteering. Also the
special project some of you arejointly working on - the remote puppet -
sound great. I would love to see it when you are finished.

And remember, it's not broken, it's just missing duct tape!
