From: "Joel Orr"<Joel_Orr-AT-notes.interliant.com> Date: Tue, 17 Jun 1997 19:00:33 -0500 Subject: the collective puppet unconscious You know, for years I thought that doing a production of Faust for puppets would be the greatest idea. Of course some of you are snickering by now because, as I have learned, Faust is oft-produced for puppets as well as in other medias (this point being well driven-in by Jan Svanmejer's incredible film version of Faust.) This has not changed my plans to eventually do a production of Faust, they've only altered and become more challenging. Everybody needs their own Faust, I've decided. So, I was wondering, are there other texts that seem to appear over and over again as puppet productions? I'm especially interested in texts which originated in other medias and made the bridge to puppetry. I'm interested in all texts which make the crossing, adult and children's drama. I'm already starting my own research, but some prods in the right direction might help. This is certainly not time-critical information, so take some time to ponder it. I'll one day use this information for something great, but I'm not sure what it is yet. keep on manipulating, Joel the Bobbindoctrin --- Personal replies to: "Joel Orr"<Joel_Orr-AT-notes.interliant.com> --- List replies to: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Admin commands to: majordomo-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu
