   A few years back I purchased some surplus (used)servos from an
electronics surplus store called Alltronics. They were quite cheap, 5 for
$10 as I recall - but only 3 of them worked well. However, they were not the
standard kind you get for Radio Control. I think they said they were from
vending machines. 
   The servo itself was in a plastic housing, and then that was also
installed inside another plastic housing. It did make the whole thing bigger
than I would prefer, but it probably made it quieter because of the double
casings.
