<< Friends, we've lost two more notable puppeteers.

Marjorie Batchelder McPharlin passed away on Sunday, October 19, 1997, at the
age of 93. Marjorie, the widow of Paul McPharlin, authored "The Puppet
Theatre Handbook" as well as several other titles. She was a charter member
of both the Puppeteers of America and of the Columbus Puppetry Guild, serving
terms as president of both organizations. A resident of Santa Fe, NM since
the early 1950s, Marjorie spent the last years of her life in a nursing home.

Mary Churchill, founder of the Puppet Showplace of Brookline, MA, passed away
Sunday, November 16, 1997, after a long illness. Mary was honored by the P
of A this summer in Toledo. Condolences may be sent to Paul Vincent Davis.
