Living in NYC I can tell you it IS the best place for fabrics of any kind. I
know several costume designers who make regular trips from various northeast
cities to make purchases. If you can make it here, I recommend Long Island
Fabrics (recently moved to Canal Street). The prices are a bit high but not
outrageous. Also, if you walk on Broadway south of Canal Street there are two
distributors of fake fur.

If you can't get here, for fluorescent fabric and short nap fur try One Way
Street, Inc in Colorado. They make muppet-style puppets and sell fabrics. Best
of all, they have a catalog. Call them at 303-790-1188 or check out their web-
site www.onewaystreet.com.
