Dear Mariano,
It's exciting that you are working in puppet theater. I wanted to
suggest that you might explore the works of Miguel (I believe that's his
first name) Villafane, who was a world-renowned Argentinean puppeteer and
writer of puppet plays, which have been published in Argentina in a number
of volumes. There is also an interesting film about Villafane's life and
career as a puppeteer in Argentina.
Graciela Monteagudo (gracielam-AT-earth.goddard.edu) is an Argentinean
puppeteer now working in Vermont who has translated a number of Villafane's
plays into English, and performed them as well; she might have suggestions
about sources in and about Argentina you might be interested in.
Villafane's wonderful work deserves to be known, certainly by
Argentinean puppeteers, and probably by puppeteers in the rest of the
Americas. Good luck with your work!

the University and I decided to try teaching English as a second language
using puppets. We adapted an Irish legend and creted the puppets with papier
mache. After putting up the play in some schools, we realized that puppetry
is not only a beautiful way of expression but that it can also help children
to learn. But we found some "technical problems" as we are not experts on
this art. So, I would like to know if some of you could possibly help us
just telling us where to find material to study and learn about puppets. I
know that there is a lot of books about the topic, but here in Argentina
they are difficult to obtain. I would appreciate any kind of information.
