Subject: PUPT: Rod Hull & Emu

Hi everyone...
I'm on the digest version of this list so I don't know if this has been
reported yet, but anyone who has ever enjoyed watching Rod Hull work will
be saddened by this, from the news wire service:

====Thursday March 18 8:49 AM ET
	British Comedian Rod Hull Dies Falling Off Roof
	LONDON (Reuters) - British comedian Rod Hull, famous for his stage
antics with an irrepressible glove puppet called
Emu, died Wednesday night after falling off the roof of his house.
	Hull, 63, fell through a conservatory roof while adjusting an
outside television aerial so he could watch a soccer match,
a hospital spokesman said Thursday.
	The comedian, who made his name on British television, was
pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital near Hastings on England's south
coast.
Hull gained notoriety after his puppet savaged flowers given to the Queen
Mother, the mother of Britain's Queen Elizabeth, after a theater
performance in 1972.
	``He was a lovely man, he was a strange man and very deep,'' fellow
actor Brian Burdon told Sky television.
=====
It was a funny, funny act!
So sad.

regards to all,
ALAN
