Thanks so much to everybody for your help and advise.  My first thought
was to go ahead with so variety of paper mache, but its going to be a
fairly long-running outdoor show and the stage design has changed in ways
that will expose the puppets to a great deal more wear and tear than
usual.  I really appreciate everyone's help.
