Date: Sat, 3 Apr 1999 16:46:05 +0100 jim, While in Convent Garden go to the Automata Museum, while not puppets exactly its a great place to see inanimate objects cleverly manipulated. Plus only a stone throw away is a toy theater shop that has puppetry books and examples of victorian toy theaters. Also while in the west -end there's Dr Doolittle which has animatronic puppets by Henson and The Lion King should be in previews soon-though I'm not sure when. My friends from Edinbugh Puppet Company are on tour with a kid show called Two by Two. they'll be at the Tricycle Theater on the 18th up in Kilburn and other venues in the south. Then there is the Puppet Theater Barge, on Bloomfield road near marble arch. Box office number is 0171-249-6876 to get a schedule. Lastly pick up the magazine called Animations that list what's happening in the Puppet scene. It can be found at specialty bookshops like the bookstore at the National Film Theater on the South Bank Have fun, enjoy a good pint and bring an umbrella!
