Probably nobody is really against some orientation or instruction for puppeteers on the various uses for computers.. publishing, accounting, sound, internet + whatever else. We differ in our opinions about how in depth the classes should be. I must admit that Jim Gamble's first communication on the subject aroused in me (mistakenly) the idea of computer talk and instruction up and down the halls at a fest. I already have technology coming at me from every direction. I can't sit down to dinner with the family without some shop talk from someone about computer issues at work. I myself worked as a programmer for years and my degree is in computer science. I go to a festival to learn about puppets and performance and many aspects of theater. THAT is what seems special about a festival to me. Also very special is the opportunity to spend time with creative people. Computers? Duh, boring, can get that anywhere, that's all I meant.
