Jim,

Another thank-you here for your EXTREMELY helpful and informative lesson on
marionette controllers!! I find this sort of discussion much more helpful
to the artform (and to my own tinkerings within it) than all the discourse
on "pro-con" technology and "pro-con" PofA/UNIMA (although I understand the
need for people to discuss said topics). I would hope that others who have
ideas or practical developments they have discovered through experimentation
would share their findings with us all...:) The more information we share,
the further we can push the boundaries of puppetry!!

I would encourage everyone on this list to write at least ONE letter to all
of us that describes something they have learned about puppetry (any tiny
breakthrough you've had, or idea that you're pursuing), even if you think it
is inconsequential...undoubtedly, others are struggling with the same issues
that you are! I would especially encourage those who feel that they don't
have enough "real" experinece with puppetry to write all of us and let us
know what sort of things you're working on or dealing with...I think it
would be a great way for people with more experinece to mentor the ones with
less, and to help all of us understand some of the difficulties faced by
people trying to enter the field of puppetry. I'm getting verbose, so I'll
try to end before I put you all to sleep. Although I have not yet figured
out what I would like to share with you all, you can be certain that I'll be
thinking about it until I do. Here's to us! Puppetry is an amazing artform
and I'm proud to be involved with it and with others who are involved in it.
I think I need to go to sleep now...it's late and I'm babbling...but I'm
mean all that I've said. Best to all!

education in the field of puppetry!)
