Thank you for the suggestions.  I am designing a "Waldo" type
contoller, i.e., using a linear/rotary potentiometer system to input
voltages to a 555 timer circuit which converts the voltages to
the proper ms pulses for servo control of the cables.  It is
possible to build such a system with very little machining (it
might not look as pretty as The Creature Shop's work, but
that's life).  This is just for my own amusement. I am not working
with any theatre or movie or television group.  I just like
building models, electronics and that sort of thing, but there
is very little out there as far as details relating to cable
control.  I've located two videos that I'm going to purchase
since that's all I've found so far.
