Subject: Re: PUPT: Safety

I know this topic has been discussed on this list in the past, so please
respond off list to this inquiry to me directly.

We are getting a "free" intern from a government program. Part of our
agreement requires we provide all necessary safety equipment and procedures
for the worker. (Probably something we *should* be doing for ourselves, but
you know how that goes.)

I know there are people on this list who are very knowledgeable about safety
practices when it comes to the various toxic materials commonly used in
puppet making. Does anyone have some advice and/or guidelines on working
with these materials that they can share?

Oh, and if you are going to tell me to use only non-toxic materials, please
save your energy. We use materials that give us the best results and have
found through experience that *sometimes* the non-toxic equivalents simply
don't do the job the way we like.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions in this arena.

Regards,
Rosemary
