Hi everyone,

I just want to augment what has already been stated...When casting
any type of water based
"slip' it is very important that you do NOT seal your mould in any way!
A clean dry mould (preferably made from ultra-absorbent pottery plaster)
is a nesessity. The water in the slip has to be absorbed by the plaster
mould in order to leave an even deposit of 'solids'.

A sealed, lubricated and non-absorbent mould is only utilized when
casting foam latex. Plastic resins should be cast in moulds made of
flexible silicone, latex or urethane 'skins' and supported with a rigid,
outer "mother mould"

                           Peace,

                      Steve Weber
