Subject: PUPT: Re: Summer and National Puppetry Conference

Sorry folks. The last paragraph got cut.
Thanks.

 Greetings:

I thought that it might be appropriate to include this notice concerning the
National Puppetry Conference along with the other postings about summer
programs.

The National Puppetry Conference will celebrate it's Tenth Anniversary with
Collaborative Production Workshops for Summer, 2000. Next summer's conference
will take place from June 10 through 18, 2000 at the beautiful Eugene O'Neill
Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut on the shores of Long Island Sound.

Richard Termine, Artistic Director, has announced that acclaimed artists ANN
and DAVID POWELL of "Puppetmongers" will create an ENSEMBLE production.

Internationally renowned puppeteer PHILLIP HUBER will conduct a MARIONETTE
PRODUCTION WORKSHOP with an emphasis on cabaret style performance. Mr. Huber
created the marionettes for the recent film "Being John Malkovich."

Besides these ensemble productions, the EMERGING ARTISTS PROJECTS under the
guidance of Pam Arciero, Bart Roccoberton, Jr., and resident playwright Annie
Evans will give participants the opportunity to create their own performance
pieces.

PUPPET ANARCHY with Martin Robinson. A highly experimental workshop exploring
beyond the boundaries of traditional puppetry form and function.

INTENSIVE PLAYWRITING WORKSHOP with Annie Evans and Lenny Pinna, designed
specifically for people who wish to develop new puppetry pieces to be
presented during the conference.

MARIONETTE WORKSHOP instructed by Jim Rose and Fred Thompson where
participants will learn the Rose style of marionette construction and
manipulation.

The conference encourages new works for the puppet theater and features
master classes, performances, and opportunities to discuss performance style
and techniques. These sessions are conducted in a non judgemental, supportive
and friendly atmosphere.
