Subject: PUPT: Re: Alternatives to Flocking

I bought what was essentially a flashlight, four C cel batteries, with a wire
connected to one end, a funnel on the end where usually the bulb goes. The
funnel was covered with a mesh wire. The wire was connected to the polyfoam
(or latex, or whatever) as the adhesive was the "carrier" of electricity. I
think I remember that the flocking (in the funnel) was electrostatically
charged and was attracted to the foam, or rather the adhesive and actually
"flew" out of the funnel. It worked moderately well, but I think I paid $250
for this cheap contraption, that I could have constructed myself for the cost
of a multicel flashlight. Jim Gamble
