The funnel was covered with a mesh wire. The wire was connected to the polyfoam (or latex, or whatever) as the adhesive was the "carrier" of electricity. I think I remember that the flocking (in the funnel) was electrostatically charged and was attracted to the foam, or rather the adhesive and actually "flew" out of the funnel. It worked moderately well, but I think I paid $250 for this cheap contraption, that I could have constructed myself for the cost of a multicel flashlight.
