Howdy-

Actually, electrostatic flocking does not ensure less waste. At the shop I
worked with the flocking wand, we tried rabbit hair, bad very bad. It shot
straight up to the metal pipes over head and hung like really creepy
cobwebs. Why it went up instead of down was totally dependent on unseen
forces. Which is what happens when you give something a net charge and then
hope that there are no other more attractive forces in the area. Everything
carries some form of charge and the pieces of flock that don't find their
way into the adhesive on the object that you want, will find themself
another convenient place to live with an attractive force that they want to
get cozy with.

Flocking is kind of like pearlescent pigments. You will find it all over
the place for the rest of forever.
