Subject: PUPT: Job openings for performers

Mum Puppettheatre seeks to hire two performers as Resident Artists for
the coming season, starting Aug 14 2000 and running to June 30, 2001.

The Resident Artists will work with Robert Smythe, Artistic Director,
to create two new shows as part of Mum's 2000-2001 season. The Resident
artists will also work with Scott Hitz, Education Director, to develop
the first show of the season, Revenge of the Fantoccini, which will run
during the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. The Resident Artists will also
perform Mum Puppettheatre's annual production of The Velveteen Rabbit
in Philadelphia as well as other productions on tour (including Costa
Mesa, CA in January).

In addition, Resident Artists will teach 2 courses (8 meetings each) as
part of our professional training program on Monday nights. Resident
Artists will also make significant contributions to the future of the
company, participating in all levels of decision-making and daily
operations.

The Resident Artist contracts are for 42 weeks paying $400/week with
benefits, including dental and optical. Successful candidates will have
movement and performance experience not necessarily related to puppetry
at all. We are especially interested in performers with dance and/or
mime training. The ability to make puppets is not as important as the
ability to perform with objects.
