At the end of the course, all students leave with their own wooden marionette and the skills to make more. The course includes instruction on puppet design, woodcarving, painting, costume design, and construction. Students also learn how to manipulate their brand-new puppet from a professional Czech puppeteer, and they have the chance to attend puppet performances and other cultural events in the beautiful city of Prague. The course is led in English; in past courses, students from Europe, Asia and America have participated. The next class will be from March 30 - April 8 2001; and we are planning a summer class for the first two weeks of August.
