hello,

what I use for sound is a small sound board made be Beringer. I bought it
through musician's friend magazine. They usually have the best prices. You
can get a good board (8 to 12 Channel) for around $200. It is not powered
so you will either need a seperate amp or powered speakers. As powered
speakers go the best are made by JBL. It is their Eon series. They are
costly but they are wonderful. If you have two of their speakers and a
monitor it will cost you around $1600 but will support a hall that seats
around 1000 people. As microphones go If you are going to be moving around
alot I would suggest getting a wireless headset from shure. That cost
around $300 or you can get a wired headset for about $125. If you are going
to beusing alot of music I would suggest getting a minidisk player/recorder.
They are very small and have wonderful sound. You can get that for around
$250. Or you can use a portable CD player through your system like I do.
Those only run around $60. It mostly depends on budget. If you went all
out you could spend around around $3500. Or you can get a system that is
alittle smaller for around $1500. I hope that helps alittle. You can view
all of this equipment at http://www.musiciansfriend.com . Good luck!
