Greetings.
I'm starting to look for a new job (preferably at least 30 hrs wk) & putting
feelers out. Currently, I work as a drug & alcohol counselor, but I don't
feel that I have the appropriate training & at least the groups are not
working out despite my efforts. I want to get a job that lends more to
creativity, where I can do art therapy, creative writing therapy, play
therapy, teaching and individual psychotherapy that does not involve as much
paperwork, but more client contact & creativity!

I'm willing to travel short distances to settings in same area for same
company.

I really want to work with younger children (between 3 yrs and 15 yrs) or
older teens/adults with cognitive impairments and families that are more
willing to express themselves creatively and are not as resistant as my
current clientele (many who are ticked off to be caught w/ their drug of
choice & furious about being in the system & coming to me - I recently had an
altercation with a client which I plan to discharge out his rudeness and
noncompliance)!

I know of some organizations here in Denver better know, but I don't want to
end up slotted in a position where I may not be able to do what I love.
However, I know the pay for therapists & teachers is absolutely terrible here
& I really have to pay my bills, so I can't do it just out of love & the
kindness of my heart, as some people I won't mention say (heh - unless you
would be willing to pay my bills).
Any leads would be appreciated.

I'm talking about the Denver-Boulder metro area.
