Subject: PUPT: Molds, casting & reproducing

Okay-doke...
here's another line of topic.
I'm looking for a way to reproduce my puppets & dolls. They range from very
small (4- 5 inches) to large (bigger than life size). I predominately make
my work out of papermache, plaster strips, polymore clays & fabric. However,
I would like to find a simple way to reproduce detailed heads, hands & feet
so I create my critters quicker for performance & for sale. I don't build
quickly enough to justify selling my work for a reasonable price. And I want
to start thinking of developing enough work to sell at fairs & galleries.
The problem is: it needs to be fairly nontoxic. I work out of my home &
share my space with animals, plants & another human. The process should be
simple enough that I can read the directions from a book or figure it out
myself. The kinds of material that I would like the pieces to be made out of
I want to range from being flexable to hard & not brittle (not crack & break
off detail easily). I've taken a class or two on casting & molding, but it's
been a while. Suggestions?
