 Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but I've fallen in love with another extremely pricy but avowedly nontoxic product -- crayola model magic.  it's incredibly light, takes detail really well from molds and sets in 24-36 hours.  you can also paint it, but have to prime it first and then apply a solid fixative on top of the paint.  it's around $30 Canadian for a 900gram bucket of the stuff.  after using it recently my entire production team vowed never to go back.

I have my own toxic-issues and I have given up Sculpey for this stuff in
doing small sculptures. Don't let the word "paper" influence you until
