Subject: PUPT: olympics and WEF

I find it fascinating that major public events of the past two weeks--the
Olympics and the demonstrations at the World Economic Forum in New
York--both prominently included pageantry with giant puppets. The Michael
Curry/Peter Minshall creations in Salt Lake City, and the Art and
Revolution puppets in New York (connected to the energies of David Solnit)
offer two identical estimations of the power of puppets in the 21st
century. So far, I've seen more examples of the political puppets in the
pages of mass media (New York Times and Newsweek).
