Subject: Re: PUPT: Papier Mache Pulp

yumm... except if you are working with kids & use sugar in the pulp, it's a
good way to attract bugs (being unable to put bleach in due to the kid
factor).
some kids get very frustrated with the paper pulp method & if you have any
children who have psychiatric disorders/behavior problems or past abuse in
your group, I recommend avoiding that type of material. (unless you like
pulp fights, refusing to touch material, smeared on the walls & ceiling)
If you still want to use that method, I would recommend also getting
disposable gloves and smocks. Some kids may refuse to use material without
gloves.

With latency age to pre-adolescent kids, they often are very concerned about
their work looking 'perfect' and will get frustrated if their pieces come out
sloppy. Do you know if these kids have made simpler puppets & worked with
paper mache & clay before? They often love to work in groups & might be a
good idea to break them up in smaller groups (2-4 kids) around the room.
