Date: Thu, 04 Apr 2002 12:02:26 -0800 Subject: PUPT: dodecahedron followup Remember my question about Baird's geometric shapes? Well- it turns out that his was a quadecahedron. A fourteen-sided figure composed of triangles. A dodecahedron is a twelve-sided figure composed of pentagons. It's a much more stable shape and, despite my best efforts, it is not possible to cover it and have it be flexible. The flexibility it has when it's not covered is pretty minimal too. The script/book is very specific about a decahedron, so I settled with making it rigid and whipping it around the space a lot. When in all else fails, shake the dolly more. -- Mary Robinette Kowal Other Hand Productions http://www.otherhandproductions.com --- Personal replies to: Mary Robinette Kowal <maryrk-AT-earthlink.net> --- List replies to: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Admin commands to: majordomo-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Archives at: http://lists.village.virginia.edu/~spoons
