Dear List:

It's been interesting reading your comments on airlines and their new security measures. Allow me to add another viewpoint.

Last September, my team was in Frankfurt, Germany on 9/11. Our show fit into two suitcases (including staging) that met the maximum measurements allowed by Lufthansa airlines. After the attacks, I left EVERYTHING that even looked suspicious in Germany, donated it to a local group and was glad to return home without problems. However, it still took us three hours to get through security in Frankfurt.

I realize that this was only 11 days after the atttack, but... Why mess around? Tensions around the world haven't decreased since then. Part of a smooth trip is planning ahead. Take the stress off yourself (and airline employees) and just play by the rules. It's better than looking down the business end of a semi-automatic weapon while someone questions you about your luggage (I've seen it happen at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul).

Just a thought...
