I worked in TV for ten years, and I agree: you have to be in the right place
at the right time...but you must prepare yourself to be ready to be in the
position to accept. The discipline of puppetry must be constantly practiced.
Here was my interview:
Telephone: Ring, Ring. Hello, is this the puppeteer?
Me: Yes.
Them: This is WKYC. We're looking for someone who can do puppets. Can you?
Me: Yes.
Them: Can you do rod puppets?
Me: Yes.
Them: Are you any good?
Me: Yes.
Them: Could you come down for an audition on Saturday?
Me: Yes.
Saturday was the first shooting of the first episode, and the show lasted
ten years!
