Uh-oh...I must confess that I am really drawing a total visual blank as to
how the whole mirror concept works. Pardon my stupidity, but I really need
someone to, uh, "hold my hand" here and pretend I don't know
anything...which I often don't! Help?

Me, attempting to elaborate:
The primary "play" area is on a tabletop stage which is approximately 22
inches high, 15 inches deep and 5 feet across. Behind this area is a
"mountain" which is a secondary "play" area (it's about 3 1/2 feet wide and
stands approximately 8 feet high). I'd like the backdrop (where the pirate
ship comes to life, behind the "mountain") to be that tall as well. I was
playing with the measurements more the other day (when I had the stage set
up) and really think I even need to make this backdrop about 13 feet wide.

The 9X5 refers to the size I am trying to achieve for the ship shadow. OK,
a bit big, but it'd be really cool.

***I am going to see if I can find a picture to put on the website to really
SHOW what I am talking about.***

Dougeebear:
>>Because of the potential for the paint to bleed through, sew a silhouette
of the ship to the back of the scrim from an opaque material. Of course, you
could save on scrim by making only part of the drop from it, leaving the
mountains out of opaque canvas or muslin and the sky and or water from
scrim. Same lighting technique.<<

Me again:
Hmmmm....Very fascinated by the idea of sewing the ship to the scrim....Must
think this through.
