I just found a letter my grandmother, Robinette, wrote while she was in
college in 1929.
 
"We went to a play of a thing last night at Demonstration School.  It
was a "little tiny" play with little wooden actors pulled by strings.
It was absolutely darling and also free.  I have found out that the show
was a "maronette" show."
