----- Two cell phone solutions that I enjoyed:
  1. A street performing (juggling, comedy skits) group at a festival in Italy (where cell phones are if anything more prevalent than here)-- When every a cell phone in the audience rang, one of the troupe would go into the audience, take the phone from the person, chew out the caller for calling during a theatrical performance and then confiscate the phone, setting it on a ledge behind the action. The phone users were too embarrassed to retrieve their phones in front of everyone, so they had to stay and watch the whole show (I am assuming they got their phones back at the end, but maybe not...)

  2. A San Francisco independent movie house announces to eveyone before the movie that they have installed a cell phone blocker in the theatre (the owner told me this was totally false) that could damage a cell phone if the phone was used within a certain distance of the blocker. The owner said it (the hoax) works pretty well.

  My 2 cents worth,
  Michael Nelson
