Hi Richard,

Mike took a chance and called ACME up your way and lucked out.  They were 
very accommodating.

When he got home, the garage had called to say his car was OK, and so he 
returned the van, thinking they would at least charge something. But they 
understood and didn't even ask for anything even though they had removed the 
seats.

I will tell Mike about AVIS and have him put them on his list. 
As I recall, when we tried UHaul last time, they wouldn't let it go overnight 
or out of state.
