Subject: PUPT: Re:Stiffening fabric/wings


In a related subject, I was wondering if anyone here has made wings - for small, medium & life size puppets & to use as an addition to a costume that one can slip on. I'm looking for ideas from anywhere to faerie wings, dragonfly, swallowtail, bat like, dragon like, etc. I have made simple wings (gossamer fabric sewed on one end to wire) but I want to make more intricate ones with detail, lines, stones & beads.  Wings with stiff fabric is one type I would like to make & also ones that can flap.  Suggestions in types of fabrics, sizing, armiture frame, etc?
