Date: Sun, 21 Jul 2002 20:20:15 EDT Subject: PUPT: Vietnamese Water Puppetry Info Re: For those of you who have emailed me asking for more specific information on the video tape that I have offered: The video is fully understandable despite the Japanese narration. There are many shots/sequences showing the puppets out of the water with close ups of the cords and poles which animate the puppets. There are shots showing how the water dragon spews water from his mouth. There are close ups of the fight scenes and back stage work. Several different locations are apparently filmed as the stages and locales are different. It is an excellent documentary. One hour long. Someone should provide a voice-over in English for PBS broadcast. Meanwhile, I have a few more copies should anyone be interested, and I will have some available at the Detroit Festival this next weekend. US$ 25.00 including postage and packaging...check, Visa or Mastercard. Please write me privately at Jimgamble-AT-aol.com for orders....don't respond with your order to this post or your information will be broadcast to everyone....
