Subject: PUPT: Painting Silk
Date: Tue, 02 Jul 2002 04:07:53 +0000

I need to paint an image onto lightweight silk. I believe the weight of the
silk is about 5 mummies (don't know if that is spelled right) and the image
I need to paint is basically a line drawing and I would like to put some
subtle wahses of color here and there in specific areas. Can people who have
experience with this tell me about it:
1. What kind of paint/marker/dye do I use?
2. How do I control the color and prevent bleeding? I don't mind the color
bleeding through to the other side, but I do not want it to bleed out of the
lines of the drawing?
3. What is the best way to strectch the silk to paint without wrinkles
getting in the way?

etc., etc., please enlighten me. Thank you, Ken
