Here in Philadelphia the Mayor has "pledged his support" behind efforts to save the city's only remaining movie palace. What this actually mean,s I've learned from my friends in the Mayor's Office for Arts and Culture (don't get me started there) is that IF someone actually does something, the Mayor will be there to get credit. But no one is actually taking a single step to do anything.
