Date: Thu, 15 Aug 2002 19:15:15 EDT Subject: Re: PUPT: Donald Cordry I have the Mexican Mask book by Cordry and I manipulated some of his puppets for the video that accompanied the exhibit that toured since the 1980 Washington UNIMA Festival and was originally in the video for the Corcoran Gallery. It's now in Atlanta a the Center..... The marionettes were quite small, but worked fairly well. It's obvious to me the Dwiggins and Cordry and other did well with what they had to work with...mostly wood, but today there are so many new products and improvments in construction and stringing technique....that it's a shame puppeteers keep going back to what was used 50 years ago...Jim Gamble --- Personal replies to: Jimsan777-AT-aol.com --- List replies to: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Admin commands to: majordomo-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Archives at: http://lists.village.virginia.edu/~spoons
