Try not to be too controlling.
Yours is not the only taste and sensibility.
Set min and max time for pieces.
Try to have a run thru night.
Try to have a workshop in puppetry before the event.
Entry fees equals committed people.
Find a good MC.
Every one comes to the theatre on time. 

There are others. These seem to be the best.
